USA-made vintage Taplin Egg Beater, Patent No. 1518285, with ivory (or cream/pale yellow) handle and knob, likely c. 1925-1935. The Patent number -- NOT necessarily this particular item -- dates back to 1924 (granted to George Wessel for a Taplin rotary beater). It features the famous Taplin Center Drive Gear, a metal frame and dashers. The wooden knob and handle are painted. The dashers are not marked
The beater weighs approx 5-1/2 oz. and is about 11" long
Beginning in the late 1890’s The Taplin Company from New Britain, Connecticut, manufactured egg beaters for over 60 years
The wheel reads:

PAT. NO. 1518285
MADE IN U.S.A.
In good vintage condition, age and use consistent, with: wear and tear, scratches and nicks, metal scrapes and rubs, unk. debris, rust (esp. on wheel, at center of drive, above dashers), discoloration, oxidation, manufacturing flaws, etc. The wooden handle and knob are worn, scratched, pitted, stained, nicked etc. etc. Runs/turns well.
